What happens when I join the Commission List?

Joining the Commission List simply registers your interest in a Brambelo Birth Bear. It does not commit you to purchasing. Gail will contact you personally to discuss availability, your requirements and the next steps before you make any decision.

What is included in a Brambelo Birth Bear commission?

Birth Bear commissions include an individually handcrafted Birth Bear created to reflect their birth weight, personalisation with their arrival details, a personalised Brambelo Birth Certificate and a Brambelo presentation box.

How is their birth weight recreated?

Each Birth Bear is carefully weighted during its creation to reflect the baby's recorded birth weight, making the finished heirloom a tangible reminder of just how little they once were.

How long will my Birth Bear take to make?

Every Birth Bear is individually handcrafted and commissions are accepted in limited numbers. Gail will confirm the current estimated timescale with you before you commit to your commission.

Can I commission a Birth Bear for an older child?

Yes. A Birth Bear can be commissioned long after the baby years have passed, provided you know the birth details needed to create it. It can be commissioned by parents, grandparents or someone wishing to give a particularly meaningful family gift.

Do I need to pay when I first enquire?

No. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to purchasing a Birth Bear. Gail will contact you personally to discuss your commission, availability and the next steps before any commitment is made.

What is Forever Memory?

Forever Memory is a private digital archive currently being developed for Brambelo families. It is designed to preserve photographs, voices, videos, letters and memories alongside a Brambelo heirloom. It is not currently included in or required for a Birth Bear commission.

I'm Gail, founder and maker of Brambelo.

I learned to crochet beside my Grandma when I was seven. What began as a childhood skill became something I would carry with me for life — and eventually the beginning of Brambelo.

Today, I create each Brambelo Creation personally. From the first stitches of the bear to the details that bring together its story, every commission passes through my hands.

But Brambelo is about far more than making something beautiful.

It is about preserving the photographs, voices, handwriting, memories and little details of family life that can become more precious as the years pass.

When a family commissions a Brambelo, they are trusting me with part of their story. I never forget that.
